Neurological disorders are a condition which may affects the tissues in the brain, spinal cord or peripheral nerves. These disorders may be acquired or congenital.
Acquired Disorders like Stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease and spinal or head injuries.
Congenital condition like Muscular Dystrophy and cerebral palsy etc.

We at First Step provide early individual assessment by experienced physiotherapist to plan an appropriate treatment programme according to the individual functional needs.

The following therapeutic methods we offer in order to treat our clients incude:

Manual techniques: to improve posture, alignment of tissues and restoration of body movements. to reduce Spasticity and rigidity.

Soft tissue techniques: massage, stretching, mobilization of tissues to promote movement and prevent stiffness and pain.
 
Muscle strength by using Universal Exercise Unit, progressive resisted exercise Functional electrical stimulation

Re education of balance reactions, walking and daily living skills.

Advice on positioning, lifting and handling techniques for families and carers
Prescription of walking aids/orthotics/splinting/where necessary.

Our physiotherapist will monitor your progress at each visit and adjust your treatment programme accordingly.
